African Penguin Spheniscus demersus

Boulders Beach, South Africa

  Whilst we were in South Africa we managed a visit to the African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach. (They were previously known as Jackass Penguins due to their donkey bray like call.) The reserve walkway takes you within just a few feet of the penguins and their burrows making for a great encounter and photography a lot easier.
