A good day at Montrose Basin today from the visitor centre, 11am to 4pm.

Long Eared Owl (a good spot from Graham) It stayed in the same spot the whole day and was enjoyed by many visitors.
Water rail, Moorhen, Snipe, Jack Snipe, Black tailed Godwit, Greenshank, Oystercatcher, Curlew, Lapwing, Redshank, Turnstone, Pintail, Wigeon, Shoveler, Eider, Mallard, Goldeneye, Shellduck, Red Breasted Merganser, pink footed geese, Little Egret, Grey Heron, Cormorant, Yellowhammer, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, House sparrow, Tree Sparrow, Blue tit, Great Tit, Coal tit, Blackbird, Robin, Dunnock, Pheasant, Woodpigeon, Crow, Herring Gull, GBB Gull, Buzzard and Sparrowhawk. Total 43 species.

No Kingfisher today probably because the ponds and saltpans were all frozen over.

The only photo I got in some sunlight, in others it looked black and white.
