ADBC Club Outing from Monifieth to Montrose Basin.

A final tally of 74 birds including 14 wader species, pretty good going despite a bitterly cold wind all day.
Many thanks to those that braved the elements !

Highlights of the day;

Iceland Gull, Twite, Purple Sandpiper, Scaup, Water Rail, Little Egret, Kingfisher, Long-tailed Duck and for me it was Greenfinches...beautiful birds.

Saturday 20 January 2.00 pm On Montrose Basin walked to the Shelduck Hide and had wonderful view of c. 53 twite in full sunshine on the telegraph wires over the path, and a few more near the junction of the path to both hides. (A member of the local ringing group at the Visitor Centre gave me advice where to look after they have been ringing this flock.)
