Raptors breeding in Angus

Postby Dave Adam » Wed May 09, 2012 6:31 pm

We are all aware of being canny when describing raptor breeding sites. Here is a quote from Angus Glens Walking Festival brochure for 2012.

Walk 20 Upper Glen Clova Eagle Watch
Leader: Neil Lowther & Lesley Wood, Angus Council Rangers.
Length: 10km/6miles circular.
Start: Glen Doll car park 11.00 (bus from Kirriemuir at 10.15). Grid Ref: 283 761
Finish: Glen Doll car park 15.00 for bus to refreshments at the Glen Clova Hotel
(return bus to Kirriemuir leaves at 16.00).
Grade: Easy. Boots required (good tracks all the way). Please bring a packed lunch.
An exciting opportunity to get excellent views of breeding Golden Eagles as they search for prey for their young.
The walk follows a forest track to the stalkers cottage at Moulzie and beyond into Upper Glen Clova to reach a
vantage point above the river to observe the eagles. The return route follows the South Esk Loop Path back to
the Glen Doll car park. A telescope will be available for use but bring binoculars if you have them.

Limit: 30 Cost: £12

I will write to Angus Council about this.
