Crested Tit

Postby John Clark » Mon Jan 05, 2015 2:12 pm

Not in Angus I'm afraid, but I thought I'd share this one, as I reckon it's about as good a shot as I'm ever going to get of this lovely little bird. I was sat on the ground in the snow for three hours at Glenmore Forest Park near Aviemore waiting for the chance of a decent image when this guy came along. Luckily, I had all the right gear on and hadn't become completely frozen, so managed to click the shutter at the right time. They are surprisingly tame when they are close to you and they only seem to move-on when the (abundant) Coal Tits take a dislike to them. They are also very 'flighty', so you have to be quick when they do appear.
