Re: OCTOBER 2018 ANGUS BIRD SIGHTINGS
Greenland White-fronted Goose with a large flock of Pink-footed Geese, viewed from the Lurgies but probably better viewed from Maryton Ditch at around 1500 today. ID confirmed in a speculative photo as the geese re-orientated as the tide came in. Also 2 Little Egrets again from the Lurgies path and towards Miss Erkines Bank.
Backwater Dam, 1030 hrs, 7 Goosander and a flock of 15 Mistle Thrush at the picnic site.
Lintrathen, 1100 hrs, perhaps as many as 1500 Canada Geese from the old elevated hide, also 600 Pink-footed Geese and 150 lapwings.
Kinnordy, 2 Whooper Swans and nought else of note.
Murton, car park pond almost dried up, 200 Lapwings and Greylags on the back pond with Gadwall, Teal and Wigeon.

Green Sandpiper still showing from car park hide at Murton, cafe now on winter hours, open Wednesday to Sunday.
Report of a Great Grey Shrike seen by a visitor at Montreathmont Hide.
Forfar Loch. Otter feeding at west end, then east of the sailing club today between 1200 and 1400, apparently it's second day showing same pattern.

Filmed from one of the seats on the way to the sailing club. (still not happy with YouTube conversion, this on Flickr)
