First returning Purple Sandpiper at Scurdie Ness today. Whitethroat, Sedge Warbler, Willow Warbler, Linnet, Yellowhammer, Dunnock, Reed Bunting, and Meadow Pipit, all attending nests or fledglings along the road from Ferryden. Dolphins see recently.

Photo of the bird here, others on my blog. (The light from the red coloured seaweed in the channel has given the bird a bit more colour than it actually had).

The Spoonbill was roosting on Miss Erskine's Bank today, also at the Lurgies, Little Egret, Black-tailed Godwit, Greenshank, Dunlin, 190 Lapwings, and around 60 Common Terns and 20 Sandwich Terns. As the tide fell the Spoonbill flew down the basin and could be seen out on the mud, just upstream from Maryton Ditch beside a beached tree.

Adult med gull amongst the black headed gills at west links tonight.

Peregrine on mast at police station for over an hour tonight, seen from my garden. I believe it’s one of the youngsters from last year which has hung around the town, also roosting at the church by the college.

On a side note I have observed two peregrine nests locally which have fledged 2 and 3 chicks respectively this year. Worth adding the two nest sites are within a couple of miles of each other.

Adult Mediterranean Gull in front of Milimia Pizza, West Links. Arbroath at 1045 this morning. Flew off to Asda (?) as the tide covered the roost. Not the same bird I reported before, an advanced 1st summer, still with black tail band but nearer adult beak and plumage.
