Still two female type Garganey on car park pond, viewed from hide, also Green Sandpiper and Common Sandpiper.

Murton 11.00 - 2 female type Garganey from car park hide. Also a female Mandarin briefly in front of hide.
Montrose Basin 13.00 - 1 Little Stint at the Slunks. Also 1 Little Egret and 10 Greenshank on Miss Erskines Bank.

Montrose Basin, Lurgies 8/8/2019 - 1400hrs
3 Little Egrets and the Spoonbill from Lurgies path between Old Harbour and Miss Erskines Bank. Ruddy Shelduck "visible" from Lurgies, roughly in centre of Maryton Bay.

Arbroath, behind Plearureland and Pitch n' Putt, 1845hrs.
Roseate Tern with juvenile, and at 1815, 5 Little Gulls.
Terns are best seen on an incoming tide, tonight around 2.5 hours before high tide, usually flying off when 15-20 metres of beach left.

Fishtown of Usan
spent a good bit of the day sea-watching, sheltered under my big brolly.
Lot of Gannets, Fulmars and Terns moving north as well as quite a few Skuas.
Best birds seen were ;
Sooty Shearwater ...3

Manx Shearwater ...78
Knot ....14

Montrose Basin today from the Visitor centre, 3 different Ospreys fishing, 2 peregrines who twice tried to drown redshank, the earlier attempt was stolen by a GBB Gull. Kestrel, common terns, 10 Canada geese, 250+ Lapwing, 150+ redshank, 12 Greenshank, a few dunlin, 1 little egret, at least 12 Herons, Eider, Shellduck, Gooseander, Mallard.

Also during WeBS from Rossie Spit, 448 Oystercatcher and 25 Black tailed Godwits, more redshank, BH Gulls and Dunlin.

Ruddy Shellduck also seen from the Wigeon Hide, no sign of Spoonbill today.

Arbroath, behind pitch and put at 1030 this morning, 1 Roseate Tern adult, this one without a juvenile and with very little red on a black beak. Stayed briefly, also a Wheatear, Common and Sandwich Terns, Ringed Plovers, Turnstones and Dunlin.

Lunan Bay platform, distant Surf Scoter, 400+ Common Scoters and 30 Velvets. A Kingfisher flew along the road near the Lunan Bridge.

Rossie Spit, from sailing club road, high tide, 51 Black-tailed Godwits, 28 Knot, some still in breeding plumage, Oystercatchers, Curlews, etc.

Lunan Bay hide pm:
One juv Black Tern on several occasions between 2 & 5pm, possibly a second later, but very mobile, amongst 300+ Common and Arctic Terns and 150 Kittiwakes.
Also one juv Little Tern briefly, Surf Scoter very distant, one Dunlin, five Knot and 10 Sanderling.

Please note that a new fence and gate have been fitted across the opening where we used to park for the Lunan Bay hide. Alternative is to park carefully on the verge below the castle.

2 Whimbrel, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 4 Black-tailed Godwits, 73 Knot, Sanderling, Dunlin, Redshank, Oystercatcher, Turnstone, 2 Arctic Terns, Common Terns, Sandwich Terns and 5 gull species etc

Adult winter plumage Little gull at Victoria Park
3 Mediterranean Gulls at Playpark area;
1st winter , 2nd winter and a ringed adult. Green darvik ASHA

Also a Black-headed Gull with a yellow darvik 2CY8

3 Greenshank on floodpool below Auchindorie Farm, Westmuir this morning 7am

Ruff juvenile to east of Maryton Ditch, moved out of sight into the bay.

Rossie Spit, 143 Knot, circa 60 Black-tailed Godwits.

Probable Iceland Gull in harrowed field on road from A92 to Nether Dysart.

Arbroath this evening, 23/8/2019.

Milimia Pizza, Arctic, Common and Sanwich Terns briefly, relocated to Inchcape Park where a juvenile Med Gull and more terns were in front of the 23 camper vans.

Victoria Park, Little Gull, a diffrent juvenile Med Gull and more terns.

Lurgies late afternoon, 1 Little Egret, Greenshanks, a large flock of Cananda Geese and a worn, moulting adult Peregrine which looked to have taken a Redshank I was watching, which appeared to have its foot stuck in a mussel or something on the mud.

Had a red kite circling over my garden today 24th August in tealing it then headed down towards dundee powrie castle area,that's the first time I have saw one in this area.

2 fledged Marsh Harriers with the adult pair this afternoon.

Large flock of c.300 Swallows, House Martins and Sand Martins feeding over loch before heading east early evening.

Two Green Sandpiper on flood puddle down track, few hundred yards past Wester Cardean farm. First track on right past yellow Angus sign on Meigle to Kirriemuir road.
