Great Grey Shrike still in the area of the top car park though pretty mobile.

Kingfisher reported from Gullery Hide at Kinnordy Loch this morning.

Backwater Dam 13.00 Great Grey Shrike on wires below dam briefly before flying north. Seen again briefly on wires halfway up reservoir 14.30.

Great Grey Shrike still on approach to Backwater car park. Seen on wires as far down as the turn off from Glenisla Road and the turning circle at the green gate where the road narrows.

Pintail drake at Keptie Pond, Arbroath, is very tame and has yellow legs and I suspect may show other anomalies in close photos, no rings though. Also 6 or more Goosanders and 1 Wigeon.
Apparently this hybrid had a neck ring when it turned up last week, it has fallen off.

Waxwings still at top of Newhame road as reported yesterday. Also flock of Bullfinches feeding on red berries, in same area . North end of Montrose.

10.30 A flock of 30-40 Waxwings near Victoria Bridge, Montrose. Saw a slightly bigger flock in the same area 15.30

43 Waxwings at Lower Craigo Street, Montrose at 1333hrs, likely to be Ron's birds from Victoria Bridge plus more, as none there minutes earlier.

Wednesday 13th November 2019 - 1213hrs
Wigeon Hide, Montrose Basin

Great Egret briefly between 1213 and 1225, landed to north of the hide then flew past and lost to view as it headed towards the Lurgies, not seen there later. Also 43 Twite in the trees at the hide, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Little Egret and 2 Kingfishers.

48 Waxwings this morning at Lower Craigo Street in Montrose

Great White Egret was back at the Wigeon Hide late afternoon, still there at Sunset with a Little Egret next to it for a great comparison. Very mobile though and doesn't stay in the same place very long.

Black Scoter still viewable at 1520 from platform, very clear views even though it was a bit out, the low sun lit up the Black Scoter, Velvets, Commons and Long-tailed Ducks.

Here's a video from the beach, where it was possible in late morning to view well with binoculars.

Merlin chasing a finch at Kinaldie, on the road to Boghead, late afternoon, flew toward Seafield.

Arbroath Harbour, near dusk. Female Long-tailed Duck, Shag with green ring, Guillemot and Dipper on Brothock also ringed.

Two Little Egrets at Lurgies, lunchtime.

Lunan Bay 10am to 11am, Scoter flocks dispersed offshore and very mobile, favouring Corbie. No sign of Black Scoter on a flat sea. Note, if it helps, the cafe is open daily 10 to 4 and it's warm. Also around, 20 Bottlenose Dolphins for most of the hour I was there with one or two very close in and in shallow water.

Afternoon walk round Backwater Dam, highlights were 10 Ravens, 12 Crossbills, Stonechat, Dipper and a Woodcock.

Black Scoter showing well from Viewing platform this afternoon , also c40 Red-throated Divers and well over 100 Long-tailed ducks.
Also a Snow Bunting reported flying over early afternoon.
