Kinnaber to Mouth of North Esk - Thu 23 Aug
100 + Swallows on Power Cables and in flight near to Car Park at Kinnaber (10.30 am)
1 x Greenshank, 2 x Common Sandpiper towards mouth of River Esk and a solitary Pink Footed Goose. (11.30 am). Is this a straggler that has been around all summer and which I simply have not noticed?
Kingfisher and 3 x Dipper on side tributary to old Railway bridge.

Little Egrets and Ruff on Montrose Basin
Three Little Egrets this morning from SWT Centre, Montrose. Birds could be seen from the Centre and were together on the west side of Maryton By.
ALSO
A report from Rob and Maggie Noble-Nesbitt telling of eight Ruff on The Lurgies. They few across the South Esk to the pools behind the Shelduck Hide.
Re: Pink-footed Goose report; there have been as many as three on the Basin all summer. Possibly these are injured birds from the winter.
Also, there has been a Whooper Swan all summer, amongst the Mutes.
Possibly of interest; there were two Whoopers all through last summer too.

Sea Eagle (Erne) at Monikie Country Park Saturday Aug 25
A message from Bob McCurley at 11.15 to tell me he has a Sea Eagle at Monikie Country Park east of Dundee. The bird, which appears to be from the release scheme, has a white wing tag ("N") and is on the Denfind Pond there. The Denfind Pond is the smallest of the Monikie Ponds

Sea-Eagle, Stonehaven
Sea-Eagle, Stonehaven Staurday 25 Aug
My wife saw a Sea Eagle from the A92 just N of Stonehaven yesterday at about 11am. Presume this must be different from the Monikie bird which was there til 1 pm?
