July 17th. 3-45pm. MANX SHEARWATERS 30 - ARCTIC SKUAS 1 LT. PHASE AND 1 DARK PHASE

Seen in Carnoustie Bay off Barry Buddon today - Also in Bay were 100.s of GUILLIMOTS AND RAZORBILLS

1 adult feeding 1 juvenile 4pm

also pair of Kingfishers said by 2 walkers to have flown downstream about 3pm

Spotted Redshanks and Greenshanks at Montrose Basin

Today, 20th July, at high tide (about 16:00) there was a Spotted Redshanks and 4 Greenshanks on Lady Erskine's Bank. That is the area of the little high tide island opposite The Lurgies as you walk upstream towards The Slunks. Also there, were 16 Black-tailed Godwits and 22 Dunlin. 16 0f these were in breeding plumage. Also 149 Lapwing.

Sunday 20th July, 2008. 3 hours from 1430hrs onwards - Storm Petrel 2 north, including one lingering for c-10 minutes feeding close inshore, Sooty Shearwater 1 north, Manxie 82 north, Bonxie 15 north and 3 south, Arctic Skua 8 north and 4 south. Cheers, SRG

Lurgies - Green Sandpiper

Tuesday 22nd July 1600-1700

Green Sandpiper (1)
Black Tailed Godwit (3)
Whooper Swan (1) - on Lady Erskine's Bank
A few Dunlin and Common Sandpiper.
Female Red Breasted Merganser with 3 very young juveniles
Osprey seen twice above the basin. On the second sighting it had a fish

On foreshore hehind 10 Pin Bowling Alley - ARBROATH -
Also there RED KNOT 2 in Full breeding Plumage , just back from Breeding grounds !

July 24th. 1300hrs. BLACKCAP 1 Female - WILLOW WARBLERS 5 , GREY WAGTAIL 1
IN Craigmill Den Carnoustie N.O. 578355 23 Species seen in Den today

Various on Montrose Basin, 30th July: Mute Swans 206, Whooper Swans 1, Greenshanks 6, Common Sandpipers 14, Pink-footed Geese 3, Whimbrel 1. All seen from The Lurgies/Slunks area.

Water Rail at Curlie Pond, Montrose. Wed 30/07/08

Yesterday, on the Curlie Pond, in Montrose, a Water Rail was seen feeding in the reeds amongst Coots and Moorhens at 721588 (at the edge of the golf course)
