Great Grey Shrike

Great Grey Shrike still present at Red Moss at Netherley, Aberdeenshire. Tends to favour the west side of the bog. I found it behind Lairhillock Inn beside a pony paddock, though it is very mobile.

Red-breasted Goose

Post by joncook »

Red-breasted Goose this afternoon 12/02/11 near Rossie Bog at Dunshalt, Fife, NO266104. Feeding in a field with cattle and 200+ Greylags. Note that it is not at the usual Rossie Bog area, but a bit SSW and accessed by a different road, the Auchtermuchty to Ladybank one. Park with care as this is a bus route.

Great Grey Shrike at Guardbridge for the past few days. There is a nature trail on the left as you come into the village from the north, between the fields and the Motray Water/Paper Mill. The bird has been frequenting the area past the gas tanks, I believe. It was very wary when I saw it, but have seen photos from almost directly underneath, so it may just be temperemental.
