Thursday 5th April

Spotted a new species for my Ninewells Hospital list after work today with decent views of a Jay in the arboretum behind the main block. Chiffchaff also heard (can be good for Blackcap here too - none heard yet).

Riverside Nature Park - highlights were 49 Black Tailed Godwits (my highest total here so far), 3 Yellowhammers, 20 Linnets and the injured Pink Footed Goose.
(full 'report' here - http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=213067&page=3 ).

Friday, 6 April.
Blackbird nest with young, a couple of days old, in privet hedge at home in Carnoustie - must have clutched around 21/3.

Craig Mill Den - dipper nest on rock face had disappeared - just a line of moss left, unless I was looking in wrong place (my memory is bad these days)!!! Wonder what sort of predator?!?!?
Long Tailed Tit nest there in an ash tree held 5 eggs.

Female merlin at "probable breeding territory" in Angus glen. Also ring ousel in same glen.
