Big thrush movement yesterday late morning/early afternoon but I missed most of them due to family commitments. In only 15 minutes I saw 600 Redwings and 80 Fieldfares >W. Anyone else see any?

Any counts of Wood Pigeons or Redwings or Fieldfares going over at the weekend would be much appreciated. All you need to do is look at the sky for the first hour after dawn! WPs moving between 8:15-9:30 at the moment (make that 7:15-8:30 on Sunday!).

A male and female Blackcap at the furthest away feeders at the SWT Centre today (also seen last Sunday).
There was a very quick Water Rail which showed itself very briefly below the same feeders.

Hi All,
There were 3 Greenshanks outside the SWT Centre Montrose on Saturday, 2 on Sunday and also 2 today (Monday).
The past couple of winters have seen Greenshanks (sometimes only one) available in just about every month of the winter. It looks like the same may be happening again.
Please remember to inform the local recorder of your sightings.

15:15 31/10/06 Bob McCurley has phoned me to report a Little Auk in Lunan Bay this afternnon. It flew to the Corbie Knowe end of the bay.
The present northerly strong winds are forecast to swing to easterlies later and Little Auks should then be seen more regualrly close to shore, as they try to return north.

Single Snow Bunting this afternoon with Skylarks, in stubble field SW of Red Castle hide. Also Swallow past Corbie Knowe and Chiffchaff at caravan park next to Glaxo.

15,000 WPs have passed over Craigisla since 23 Oct. But the high pressure tomorrow could result in the biggest movement of the autumn... So if you're free between 7:30-8:30 tomorrow, why not get out and enjoy the crisp blue skies and look out for the flickering hordes overhead?
