Any counts of Wood Pigeons or Redwings or Fieldfares going over at the weekend would be much appreciated. All you need to do is look at the sky for the first hour after dawn! WPs moving between 8:15-9:30 at the moment (make that 7:15-8:30 on Sunday!).

Blackcaps and Water Rail at SWT Montrose today Friday 27th.
A male and female Blackcap at the furthest away feeders at the SWT Centre today (also seen last Sunday).
There was a very quick Water Rail which showed itself very briefly below the same feeders.

GOOSE BREAKFAST ERROR!
Thanks to Bob McCurley for informing me today, that I had the wrong date for the Goose Breakfast tomorrow, Sunday 29th October at 06.45.
If you're coming, remember we turn the clocks BACK tonight.
Hopefully we'll see you at the SWT Centre, Montrose tomorrow and you can all tell me how stupid I was/am!

Greenshanks at Montrose Basin
Hi All,
There were 3 Greenshanks outside the SWT Centre Montrose on Saturday, 2 on Sunday and also 2 today (Monday).
The past couple of winters have seen Greenshanks (sometimes only one) available in just about every month of the winter. It looks like the same may be happening again.
Please remember to inform the local recorder of your sightings.
For your information the local recorder is;
Graham Christer (01356 660375)
Graham should be contacted in the case of all rarities, so that the record can be submitted (and hopefully, accepted). Many birders can't be bothered with this side of birding and can I ask, if you don't want to submit the record yourself, please contact a 'witness' who will submit it. Also, of course, please let the ADBC grapevine know about it.

Little Auk at Lunan Bay
15:15 31/10/06 Bob McCurley has phoned me to report a Little Auk in Lunan Bay this afternnon. It flew to the Corbie Knowe end of the bay.
The present northerly strong winds are forecast to swing to easterlies later and Little Auks should then be seen more regualrly close to shore, as they try to return north.

15,000 WPs have passed over Craigisla since 23 Oct. But the high pressure tomorrow could result in the biggest movement of the autumn... So if you're free between 7:30-8:30 tomorrow, why not get out and enjoy the crisp blue skies and look out for the flickering hordes overhead?
