Osprey
Waiting for a train I saw an Osprey taking a fish just across from Montrose station today, nice feather shake down as well.
Yesterday up in the high hills another Osprey passing through , and last week an adult and a juvenile calling after it over the heights of Glen Esk.

In addition to the Curlew Sandpiper at Westhaven today, there were also 2 juvenile Little Gulls and 1 (possibly 2) Ruff in the small bay just west of Hatton water treatment plant. In Craigmill Den there were still a Whitethroat, Blackcap and Willow Warbler. 28 Canada Geese on the beach at Easthaven also.

Re: SEPTEMBER 2014 ANGUS BIRD SIGHTINGS
Managed to refind the Roseate Tern (adult plus also a possible juvenile) and also a juvenile Mediterranean Gull at Arbroath today. Initially the RT was near the western end of the esplanade area on rocks, but showed up later on the rocks by the cliffs (FAO Neil Black & Mickey Mellon, it WAS the bird perched on the small rock). A Peregrine had a go at the Terns as they perched on the rocks here resulting in them all deserting the area and heading off somewhere. A few Golden Plover on the rocks near the Roseate Tern early on, a Guillemot on the lower cliffs at Seaton Cliffs and 2 Common Sandpipers by the harbour wall/burn outflow.
A few photos of the Roseate Tern on my facebook page.

Little Egrets
On Sunday night I noted that one of the Little Egrets was colour ringed. Red on Right Yellow on left. On the Yellow ring the letter "A" was visible. There were around 50 Grey Herons lining the Esk Channel. 8 Little Grebes, four Greenshanks, one Ruff.
